This was a pretty little park outside of Charelston called Cypress Gardens. We took a boat trip around to see the scenery and alligators.

Iceland Day 3

For me it is easier to take beautiful pictures in beautiful places. I have seen photographs take awesome pictures of not so beautiful places. One has to have great composition and technical knowledge. The other trick I use to making a not so great image good is making it black and white. This might only fool me in to thinking it is better but I am okay with that. Another thing I find to make my pictures more appealing to me is going to an unfamiliar place. When I walk around my city it is just another day but when I was walking around New York City it was cool and different. I found Iceland different and beautiful. This leads to another issue, too many photos! The culling process has been long and difficult at times. A lot of images that take a long time to edit. Iceland Day 2

Day two started out with a whale watching cruise. This got me a little closer to those mountains I wanted to take pictures of on day one but was a little too far away from. The tour started at 9am so the sun was still rising so it wasn't the best light to start off, but that didn't stop me from taking pictures. I liked the lone building in front of the mountains. It is funny to think if you turn 180 degrees you see Reykjavik. Reykjavik is not a big city by any stretch of the imagination but it does hold over 60% of Iceland's entire population. I liked this photo because it is a little disorienting. It looks like the land is floating in sky. I wanted to leave a lot of the water in the shot and less of the sky like typical shots. Once I saw the photo on my monitor I liked how it looked a little off. I was able to capture some nice sunrise colors through the clouds. I really like the colors in this shot, it sums up the f...
